Even salvation can be delivered through the love of the damned…
Beauty can be a curse.
Faith can be a cage.
Only love can set you free.
A few long weeks after being reluctantly ripped from the comforting embrace of her sacred prophet’s religious commune—the only life she has ever known—a terrified Delilah is thrust into a world enveloped by evil and swimming in sin.
Steadfastly devout in her faith, and retaining the deep belief that her soul is innately tarnished as a branded ‘Cursed woman of Eve’, Delilah is determined to find her way home to her people in The Order and away from the corrupt and damned outlaw motorcycle club—The Hades Hangmen—who hold her at their secluded compound for her protection—a 'protection' she strongly resents.
Delilah yearns to return home, convinced that only amongst her own people, and under the holy guidance of the Lord’s revealed prophet, can her Satan-spawned soul be truly saved. Conditioned her entire life to believe she is a witch... a life-long temptress… the devil’s whore... Delilah increasingly resents her beautiful face, her shapely body and her sensuous effect on men. But when a man of the motorcycle club—a deeply sinful yet stunningly beautiful man—is charged with her care, Delilah begins to see that this dangerous and moralless sinner from the 'outside' may offer her something she did not know could truly exist: unconditional love.
Kyler ‘Ky’ Willis loves his life: a daily abundance of brotherhood, liquor, the freedom of the open-road and—best of all—his pick of hot women. Raised a biker brat and now VP of the most notorious MC in the States, Ky has no shortage of club sluts warming his bed; a situation he takes full advantage of… until a certain blonde enters his life… a gorgeous pilgrim-blonde he can’t get out of his head… a pilgrim-blonde he and his club recently-rescued from some backward religious cult… and a pilgrim-blonde he’s been ordered to keep the hell away from and his whorish hands off.
When yet another in a lengthy line of drunken blunders forces Ky to reluctantly take charge of the pilgrim-blonde’s care, he realizes that there could be more to this woman than just supermodel looks and a stacked set of tits. He begins to see that she could be the woman who could do the impossible—tame his wild ways and capture his reluctant heart.
But the unyielding bonds of Lilah’s past are strong, her ‘people’ determined and, with a new Prophet in charge and hell bent on revenge, they are mightily reluctant to let her go...
Wow, I just finished this. It took me some time to absorb and be able to write this. Let me start off by saying that this book is not for the weak of heart. It took me three days to read this and that is a record for me. I can start and finish a 400 page book in a day. It was not because the book was bad. Not even close but some of the subject matter that Tillie touches on is tough. She does not hold back in continuing the backstory of Mae, Lilah and Maddie.
Heart Recaptured picks up where Mae and Styx’s story leaves off. They have brought Lilah and Maddie back to Hades Hangmen compound after raiding and killing the prophet David at the commune they came from. Rider is “missing”. You are going to get more than just Lilah and Ky story in this book. There are also chapters from Cain/Rider’s POV. He is now the head of the New Zion order and s**t is getting real. He is not just letting go of Mae. He can’t really since the “prophecy” says he must marry her to save them all.
Lilah is not handling this well at all. She is the most devout of them all and boy, is she out her element. Add on top of that the MAJOR sexual tension between her and Ky. Ky is his normal whoring self through the whole beginning of the book. When Lilah can’t take the debauchery going on in the clubhouse, she leaves the seclusion of the apartment her and Maddie are holed up in to make it stop. Well that does not turnout so well so Styx’s tasks Ky with taking care of Lilah. He needs to help her get used to being on the outside but not touch her. Ha…that was some wishful thinking there. Funny thing is…Ky actually does this. He makes some really great headway with her and she really does trust him. When something horrible happens to her at the clubhouse, Ky goes into full protection mode. He has no choice but to come to terms with his true feelings for her. Things start to look up from there until s**t hits the fan and the club ends up on another rescue mission.
I am going to say, this first half of this book is going to put you through the ringer. There were parts where I wanted to quit. I was like, I am so not made to read this kinda stuff. This is why it took me so long to read. I wanted to know what happened though. I knew that Tillie would make worth my wild if I made it to the end and she did not disappoint. Once again she proved what a wonderful writer she is. She writes books that touch you because they are honest. Everything that happens to these girls, could very well be happening somewhere to other young girls coming from their same situation. Its tough but honest. The places that Mae, Lilah and Maddie came from do exist. We have history to prove that. It makes your heart sad and I wanted more than once to go through the book and just hug Lilah. Protect and take care of her.
I am excited to see this series continue. Flame is more insane in this book than the last and I love every second of him. I just know his story is going to destroy me. I cannot wait. This series is not to missed if love a good dark read but be prepared, this book is not easy to swallow.
Mae’s dark lover whistled from beside him and indicated for us to follow with a wave of his hand, but fear seized my heart, and instinct caused me to flee.
“Lilah!” Mae’s voice screamed as I darted into the throng of terrified sisters. My head whipped from side to side as I tried to find a place to hide, and seeing an entrance to the forest, I lifted my feet and scrambled in that direction.
But before I had moved a few steps, a large body wrapped me in his arms and lifted me off the ground, preventing me from getting away.
I screamed and screamed as a strong, unyielding arm clad with leather wrapped around my waist. I was terrified, tears pouring down my face as his legs picked up speed and started running.
“Please…please let me go!” I begged, but a mouth suddenly placed at my ear cut off my voice, long blond strands of hair—not belonging to me—falling on my cheek.
“Nope. You’re coming with us, sweet cheeks, so stop trying to run this sexy ass away. Although, I could watch that fuckin’ perfect peach of a view all day long and never get tired of it. But Mae wants you at the club, so you’re fuckin’ coming to the club.”
My breathing hitched at how this blond outsider spoke to me and I froze in his arms, not daring to move, worrying that if I did, I might meet the same fate as the slain brothers on the ground. Then, as I carefully tuned my head, I saw who held me in his arms, carrying me as though I weighed nothing—the blond man from before. The one who kept staring at me like I was something he wanted to devour.
The same man, who when my eyes first met his, an ache throbbed within my chest.
