Two women. Carly and Tabitha. They each have suffered life-altering events that have left them both traumatically damaged.
Carly Sloan’s life was perfect until her security and innocence was torn from her. The vast repercussions from horrific events threaten to destroy her stability and her chances for a happily ever after. Kyle Finnegan comes into Carly’s life at the height of her turmoil. Can he help her find what she desires most?
Tabitha Fletcher has constantly suffered from a very young age. She has been hiding from her past, which was full of sadness, loss and abuse. She has been so brutally damaged that she has very little hope for redemption. The revolving door of men only leads her deeper into misery.
What circumstance brings these two women together and can they help each other heal? And will they each find what they need?
“Dear Emily” is the first book in the “Forever Family” series.
This book is not suitable for young readers. It is intended for mature adults only (18+). It contains strong language, adult/sexual situations, non-consensual sex and some violence.
This story is not for the weak hearted. It will make you cry for so many reasons. You cry for Carly and Tabitha, for what they are going through in the present and past. It was not what I expected either but that could have been my own fault….lol….since I went in without reading the synopsis. When I turned to the first page I was so excited….I was, “OMG!!! The book takes place in New Brunswick. How cool is that! She must be a Jersey writer.” You all know I love my Jersey writers but this was even more cool cause it was in the town over. My son was born in New Brunswick. I was like,”Maybe there will be stuff in the book I know.” Yeah, scratch all that cause I kinda hate New Brunswick now after all it did to poor Carly….lol. She went to Rutgers, yeah hate that too. How these two women come out stronger is the end is amazing and testament to the saying…What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.
Emily is the little girl yet to be born. She is baby that Tabitha wants nothing more than to give a better life that she has had herself. She is the little girl that is going to give Carly and Kyle the family they desperately want and deserve. Carly’s ability to have children was ripped away from her in a horrific way at young age…they deserve this. I don’t think there is a little girl more loved than Emily even before she enters the world.
I can’t believe that soon you will be here, in our arms, in our lives…
We are ready for you, sweetheart. So very ready.
We love you so much already. See you soon.
Love, Momma & Daddy”
I’m getting ready to say goodbye to you, little girl…
You will be part of a perfect family…
I hope you understand some day why I made the decision that I have.
I love you sweet girl.
I spent the entirety of the book wanting to jump through the pages so I could hug Tabitha and Carly plus beat the shit out of every person that hurt them. These two women went through so much together and apart but they come through it in the end. It was a beautiful, inspiring and heartbreaking journey to take with them. Oh, I madly in love with Kyle and all of Carly’s friends. I want a Kyle <3 That man makes your heart melt with how much he loves Carly and she so deserves that love. I want to tell you so much about this book but I do not want to wreak the experience for you. It is a must read and I am so very excited to read Tabitha’s story next. She deserves a happily ever after more than any other character I have ever read.
