HEATH STRICKLAND, the son of a prominent district attorney, lived his life surrounded by violence and crime. He was an unwilling witness to the corrupt lives his father swore to prosecute and keep behind bars. His escape was his music, which eventually led him to replace the iconic singer of the world famous band, Epic Fail.

NOELLE DURAND lived in luxury, growing up on a sprawling estate, with everything she could ever want or need. Her life, to everyone else, seemed perfect. Perfect house. Perfect things. Perfect family. But nothing at all was perfect. She lived in hell. A hell that nobody on the outside could see.

As a neighbor and childhood friend, Heath would have done anything for Noelle. He would have given up the world to protect her and keep her safe. Their friendship grew into something that neither of them expected. But then she suddenly disappeared, vanishing from his life as if she never existed. He never stopped hoping that one day she would resurface, alive and well. But as time went by, and her family gave up hope, he surrendered his heart to his lost love.

Twelve years later, one phone call changes everything.

EPIC LOVE is the third book in the EPIC FAIL series and can be read as a standalone novel.

This series is a spinoff from the FOREVER FAMILY series.

This story of friends turned to lovers and second chances was everything I didn’t know I needed.

Now Heath is not an original member of Epic Fail and I had no real interest in his story. Not in a bad way, it just never crossed my mind. He was always just the guy that took Alex’s place in the band. (Read Dear Emily and Dear Tabitha for that story)

EPIC LOVE changed all that in just the first few chapters.

Heath and Noelle were friends since young children. Noelle moves in next door and friendship blooms from a love of wiffle ball, fireflies and fairies. As time moves on, friendship turns to young love and the trust and bond between Heath and Noelle grows. Sadly, everything is not as it seems in Noelle’s world. She lives in her own personal hell (courtesy of her evil stepmother) and has no one to share it with because of a fear of the consequences. When things reach a point of no return and Noelle ends up in the hospital, everything changes.

Heath comes from a home full of love and warmth unlike the other Epic Fail guys. He has parents that he loves and love him. Heath is the good guy that is calm, stable and loves Noelle with his entire being. Losing the love of his life changes him forever. Life is full of questions, doubts, blame and regrets. He lost the girl he gave his heart to and never truly accepts that Noelle is gone.

Then 12 years later, when things are just looking bleak in his world, one phone call changes his life again.

An EPIC LOVE story at its best.

Heath and Noelle’s story is in dual POV, jumping from the past to the present in flawless fashion. A testament to Trudy’s impeccable writing skills and her ability to weave a story that keeps you engaged from beginning to end.

Seeing them fall in love made my heart happy. Thier love was sweet, innocent and then destroyed by the evilness of one woman. I was rooting for them and when Noelle disappears my heart broke for Heath. Luckily, their story does not end because of one woman’s cruelty or with a phone call that rocks both their worlds. The second half of their story is just as beautiful and heartbreaking as the first. There are so many things neither of them knew and their journey is one of discovery, apologies and firsts.

***

Here we are again, my love affair with Trudy Stiles continues. Sadly, my love affair with the Epic Fail boys and this beautifully interwoven set of characters is ending. EPIC LOVE is one the best almost endings to a series. I have had a connection and love with these characters from the first few chapters of Dear Emily. I swear one day (A day I hope will never come), Trudy, you are going to write a book I hate but thankfully today is not that day 🙂 This series and the Forever Family series are a must read. I know there is still one more to come with EPIC HOLIDAY but then this chapter must come to close and I am so excited to see what else Trudy has up her sleeve.
