An up and comer trying to make a name for herself...
KYLIE never expected to be stuck on a tour bus with a pampered princess and her boyfriend’s ex.
A troubled artist struggling to hold onto his career...
TRACE thought he was finally getting to do things his way. Until the label added co-headliner Gretchen Gibson, the only person in country music with more issues than him, to his "No Apologies" tour.
Surrounded by tabloid rumors and people they can't trust, Kylie and Trace need each other more than ever. But the choices they make will change everything.
Because chasing your dreams and following your heart don’t always lead you to the same place…
I would have to say the “Kylie Ryan’s” series is one of my favorites. Casey Quinn knows how to write herself a book.
Ok…I read Girl with Guitar on a fluke…seriously. I was trolling my Facebook feed one day and her book popped up because it was on sale for .99 cents. I am a .99 cent book whore. I get some great books that way. It sounded good…country music star…..drunk….girl in pain….good times right there….hehe. OMG!!! I fell in girl love with Kylie and all her sass. I wanted to be her. I wanted to go tour with every messed up, drunk, swearing, asshole, sexy, ripped cowboy part of Trace Corbin.
“I’m from Oklahoma, honey. I can bless your heart and hate your guts all at the same time.”
So when I started this blog and found her blog tour for Girl On Tour I was like a giddy school girl telling Mari she needed to sign-up like yesterday and I wanted on that tour. I would sell a kidney for it if need be…lol…I have issues….book whore issues 😉 Of course…my Mari loves me so she got me my tour 🙂 So here I go….
Well I loved Girl on Tour more than Girl with Guitar. GoT picks up right where GwG ended. Kylie is on a Vitamin Water tour and about to be stuck on a bus with two other girls. Trace is fighting to keep his career alive after nearly destroying it from drinking himself to death plus trying to stay sober for Kylie and his sister’s. He is on tour with Gretchen. The female version of his old fucked up self and she is not making things easy for him or his career.
Kylie and Trace are trying to make it work with both of them being on the road but as always somebody, mostly the media, have to come and fuck it up. He is trying to match their dates on their tours so they can spend time together, they talk on the phone and Skype. It helps some but stuff is just stressful on both ends.
Kylie is dealing with naïve and wide-eyed Lily just looking to get her father’s attention. Mia, the girl with hugest chip on her shoulder ever, always spewing hate at her.
“Bitch, meet line. Cause you just fucking crossed it.”
She misses Trace like crazy and is constantly worried about his sobriety. She about to blow up the country music scene but can’t get a chance to enjoy it with all the crap going on around her.
My poor Trace 🙁 He is struggling too. He stuck on a bus with primo bitch. His career is hanging on by a thread along with sobriety. He is missing Kylie so much and his mind is his own worst enemy. I want them to make it. I want them to make it so bad that I can taste it. You have to read to find out if they do. Hehe *evil laugh*
“You fell in love. Love is a mean bastard.”
Caisey out did herself with Girl On Tour. I didn’t think I could fall in love with Kylie and Trace anymore then I already have but she made it happen. She writes a great story and keeps you engaged the whole way through. Her characters are real and relatable. She makes you like them even when they are the biggest bitches ever and puts just enough steam in her book to make it so much fun to read.
I am going to tell you now that there is Book 3….Girl In Love….so we all know what that means. I am so excited to see where she ends Trace and Kylie’s story. I know she will make it epic because it’s what they deserve. I also really hope she chooses to continue a companion series about all the wonderful secondary characters like Trace’s sisters and Mia *hint…hint ;)*
He pulled out her chair and she sat, watching his every move as he made his way to his own seat. “I hope this is okay. This is the most private table they have.”
“It’s perfect.” She tried to breathe normally and ignore the strange feeling in her stomach.
Trace grinned, revealing the boyish dimples that framed his perfect mouth.
“They have the best steak here. Seriously. You better order one for yourself because you’re not getting any of mine.”
At that, she laughed and her nerves eased up a bit. “Oh, I bet you’d give me a bite if I asked nicely.”
He eyed her from over the top of his menu. “Do you ask for things nicely? I don’t think I’ve ever seen you do that before.”
With her stomach clenching from the heat in his stare, Kylie put her menu aside. “Maybe you’ve never had anything I wanted badly enough to ask nicely for.”
He raised a brow and opened his mouth to respond. But at that same moment, a waitress appeared and asked for their drink order. Kylie didn’t miss how flustered the girl became when she got an eyeful of Trace. It would’ve been irritating, but really, with the way he looked tonight, Kylie couldn’t blame her. She was still trying to get a handle on her own self.
When the waitress left, Trace leaned across the table. “Actually, I take that back. I’ve heard you ask nicely a time or two. Matter of fact, it bordered on begging. I think it went something like, ‘Oh God, yes, please. Trace, please.’”
Heat crawled over her skin at his imitation of her. Barely keeping the grin of embarrassment from her face, she shook her head. “You’re not right. What kind of thing is that to say to a girl on a first date?”
He grinned back, the promise of something dark gleaming in his eyes.
“Considering this date is going to end with that dress on my bedroom floor and your legs wrapped around my neck, I think it’s a perfectly acceptable thing to say.”
Good Lord. What was she going to do with this man? Oh yeah. Exactly what he’d just described.
