So how did I get myself into this situation, you ask? Simple: desperation. When you're faced with being homeless and hungry or taking off your clothes for money, the choice is easier than you'd imagine. That doesn't make it easy, though. Oh no. I hate it, in fact. There's nothing I'd like more than to quit and never go into another bar again, never hear the techno beat pulsing in my ears again, never feel the lecherous gazes of horny men again.

Then, one day, I meet a man. He's in my club, front and center. He watches me do my routine, and his gaze is full of hunger. Not the kind of desire I'm used to though. It's something different. Something hotter, deeper, and more possessive. I know who he is; of course I do. Everyone knows who Dawson Kellor is. He's People Magazine's Sexiest Man alive. He's the hottest actor in Hollywood. He's the man hand-picked for the role of Rhett Butler in the long-awaited remake of Gone With the Wind.

He's the kind of man who can have any woman in the entire world with a mere crook of his finger. So what's he doing looking at me like he has to have me? And how do I resist him when he looks at me with those intoxicating, changeable, quicksilver eyes?

I'm a virgin, and he's an American icon of male sexuality. I'm a stripper, and he's a man used to getting anything and everything he wants. And he wants me. I know I should say no, I know he's the worst kind of player…but what my mind knows, my body and my heart may not.

And then things get complicated.

Mature Content Warning: 17+ for language, and adult situations. HEA ending.

I think it is no secret just how much, I love Jasinda Wilder. She is my go to for a good read. She never disappoints me. Stripped, of course, would be added to the list but maybe not as high as my many other books I own by her.

Stripped is the story of Dawson and Grey. Grey is a pastor’s daughter that has spent the majority of her life feeling smothered and repressed by her overbearing father. She has dreams that do not line up with what her parents have in mind for her. A family tragedy leaves Grey feeling alone and abandoned. Then after a major blow up with her father she runs to LA to attended UCLA. She ends up cutting ties with her family and focuses on attending school. Things are going well for the first few years but in final year of school she learns that her scholarship money has run out and she needs to find a way to pay for her last year. With no options she decides to take a job as stripper. It goes against everything she was raised to believe but as the saying goes….desperate times call for desperate measures.

Dawson is the uber hottie movie star. Grey and Dawson meet for the first time in the strip club she works at. The attraction between is instant. The kicker is when she finds out the next day that he is also the actor she has to assist during her internship for her film degree. This where shit starts to get messy and the drama ensues.

Ok…I just need to state how madly in love I fell with Dawson. I mean everything that came out of that man’s mouth made me melt to my core. I am going to try and not give away the majority of the book since most of my quotes involve me swooning over Dawson….hehe 🙂

I may have more money and sophistication than those other guys, but I’m just like them. Looking for a cheap thrill, a quick escape. And you? You’re a high we could never get anywhere else. Watching you dance? The way you move? The way you wait until the very fucking last second to take the clothes off? It’s maddening. You don’t even know. You can’t. There’s something inside you, beyond that innocence. I see it. It’s… fuck. It’s bright as the fucking sun, but it’s hidden, because you’re miserable.” –Dawson

Grey…oh Grey….I really did want to like you. I tried….I really did but she spends the majority of the book running from my poor Dawson for no goddamn reason. Plus the amount of time she spends telling herself that the hot and sweaty things she feels around Dawson are a sin made me want to go out and have threesome just so I could show her what sinning really looks like….messed up right? I know….sorry 🙁

Oh, god. Oh, lord , help me. I can feel him, all of him, pressed up against my backside. “Dawson, why are you doing this?” “Why are you fighting it?” “Because— it’s all so much. You’re… you overwhelm me.” “I’m just a guy.” – Grey

In the end….I really enjoyed this book even if Grey annoyed the hell out of me. Jasinda has a way of writing that even if I want to slap one her characters it does not mean I will stop reading. The story was great, writing was done well as always and the sex was H-O-T…HOT 🙂 OMG!! There are some scenes in this book that will make you need a new set of panties. Let just say, I loved Bugatti’s prior to this book but after I have a whole new appreciation for the beauty of a Bugatti….hehe.

He slowly and gently withdraws his finger. “Are you ready, babe?” His voice is silk sliding over me, his mouth against my ear, his chest against my back. “Yes…” I breathe. “Now.”

“Is that an order?” His voice is amused. I nod, my cheek against the cold hood of the Bugatti. I harden my voice and put all the command into my delivery as I can, craning my neck to meet his hot hazel gaze over my shoulder. “Now, Dawson.”

He literally growls, and his pupils dilate. His manhood jerks and thickens. “Fuck me, that’s hot. You should order me around more often.”

I think my panties just melted from copy and pasting that quote. Guys…that was only a small section of the whole scene *fans self* 😉 Jasinda does it again. She made me laugh, cry and melt in all the right places plus we get HEA. Not one of her 5 star reads for me simply because there was just something off but you definitely need to pick up this new read from Jasinda Wilder.
