Suzy’s a control freak and has her life mapped out - work hard, find a man with a stable job, and live happily ever after. She’s content with the status quo, but her plan comes to a screeching halt when he enters her life and turns it upside down.

City gave up on love when his heart was crushed in college, preferring to be the typical bachelor. He spends his nights hopping from one bed to another and his days working at his family tattoo shop, Inked. A chance encounter on a dark road makes him question what he had sworn off forever – a relationship.

A night of passion and lust causes them to question everything. Is City the knight in shining armor to the damsel in distress? Can their relationship survive when a fantasy falls apart and a secret comes out that changes everything?

This is the first book in the Men of Inked Series.

I am trying really hard to figure out what to say about Throttle Me. It wasn’t a great book but it didn’t completely suck either. Here we go….the bad, good and the final verdict 🙂

First, the title confused me. Its called Throttle Me….so in my mind there had to be something to do with an MC or something to that effect. Nope…just a tattoo artist who owns a motorcycle.

Second, City/Joey/Joe…other than be a tattoo artist…is not a “bad boy” in the normal sense. He actually comes from a pretty normal loving Italian family with lots of brothers and sisters. They all run a tattoo shop together.

Third, Suzy…..ahh Suzy. You actually meet Suzy in Chelle’s other series. She is part of Sophie and Kayden’s story as Sophie’s roommate/BFF. Boy…I thought she was kooky in that book….she even more nuts now. This chick is all over the place. She wants a nice guy but her sexual fantasy is to kidnapped and sold to sexual slavery…..ummm…ok.

It was not the worst book I have read and the story was nice in its own way. I really did like City/Joe/Joey even if he wasn’t as bad ass as I would normally like. There are some hot sex scenes (though a tad drawn out) and they really do have great banter when Suzy is not being her own worst enemy. City’s siblings are funny and I am curious to read their story’s. I sound like I hated don’t I?? I really didn’t. I read the whole and truly did enjoy for what is was. I think my favorite part had to be getting to see Kayden and Sophie again. That made me smile. They were very happy which made me happy.

It may not have been completely for me but I would definitely give it a shot. Suzy and City may totally work for you.

“What’s for dessert?” I asked as he closed the door.

“Anything you want, sugar.”

“You know what I want,” I said with a smile that was anything but innocent.

“Are you up to it?” he asked with a look of concern.

“Question is, big boy, are you up to it?”

He laughed. “Don’t ask questions if you can’t handle the hearing the answer. Eat your food and I’ll show you how up to it I am, sugar.” He placed a giant piece of lasagna with cheese oozing out in front of me. My stomach growled at the smell and the feeling of hunger finally hit me.

I wanted him and I figured that if I challenged his manhood, he’d finally cave. All men are the same in that regard. I cut into the slice and watched all the insides squish onto my plate. The hot lasagna spread across my tongue and I wanted to moan from the taste.

“That good, huh?” City asked as he scooped a chunk in his mouth.

“What? Did I?”

“Yep, you moaned, sugar.”

My face became heated. “Well, I’m used to Stouffer’s lasagna. This is amazing, City. You don’t know how lucky you were to grow up on this type of home cooking.” I slid the fork across my tongue and slowly chewed, letting all the flavors dance on my tongue.

“I never thought about it. Suzy, you keep making noises like that and I won’t let you finish the next bite.” He set the fork on his plate and stared at me.

“I need my fuel to get better.” I placed another sliver in my mouth, closed my eyes, and made a small sound in the back of my throat.

“You have thirty seconds to finish what’s in front of you before I take your ass in the bedroom and give you something to really moan about.” He crossed his arms over his chest and looked at the watch on his wrist. I shoveled the food in my mouth. I felt torn in this moment, but the lasagna could always be reheated.

“Fifteen.” He smiled at me and I felt everything in my body convulse and scream to be touched. I shoveled another forkful in my mouth as I chewed like a maniac.

“Wait!” I held up my hand. “I need something to drink,” I said as I hopped off the high top chair around my café table.

“I got something for you to wash that down with, sugar. Time’s up.”
