Discussion: Sunday Sit Down #1

Posted 12/14/2014 by Juliana in Blogging /// 3 Comments ///

Welcome to the FIRST Sunday Sit Down. We are going to talk books, new releases, upcoming releases and anything going on around the blogosphere. I sorta, kinda “stole” this from Megan from Reading Like A Boss and her Sunday Book Chat vlog plus her Around the Book Blogosphere. I may have a blogger crush on her and her site. Thank you Megan <3

What is the Sunday Sit Down?

Basically, its where I, Juliana, get to talk to you about the stuff I love. What has happened this week on the blog and the small community we have come to call our home away from home. Everything I say is my opinion and maybe Cezanne’s but still ours. You do not have to agree and I am not trying to offend anyone but I am a born and raised Puerto Rican Jersey Girl from two very, very South Bronx parents. I have opinions, I just can’t help myself…hehe. This going to change every week as I find my flow but this is what you get for my first shot. Please comment below and let me know know how I did 🙂

Ch…Ch…Changes….They are a comin’

I know the topic of many discussions…What is going to happen to Facebook come January 2015? Here is an article someone shared that did very well in explaining it.

Listen, I am just a worried as the rest of you. I really have yet to figure out exactly what is going to happen but I do know it going to involve money for anyone running a “business page” on Facebook. You want your posts to be seen, well you gotta pay. I understand why Facebook is doing what they are doing from business standpoint. Facebook was meant as a social media platform originally but since its inception, many many things have changed. The platform must change with it. That is just the way of life. One thing Facebook will never be…a FREE advertising platform. Lets be honest…that is basically what it has become and Facebook is saying enough. Can you blame them? I can’t. Business is business and you can’t do business for free. Bottom line. There I am done.

So with all the changes coming down the pipeline…here are some of my ideas for staying up to date with your favorite authors and blogs:

This seems to be taking off and the best part…you can make money. Find us on Tsū

What is tsū? tsū is a free social network and payment platform that shares up to 90% of revenues with its users. (tsū is pronounced ‘Sue’)

But..there are limits on things you can do so check out the FAQ so you are fully informed but it really is a great place to be so far plus you get to SEE actual posts you like.

I love Bloglovin. I love it so much because it allows me to follow all my favorite blogs and authors WITHOUT having to receive 900 emails for newsletters. They even have an app for your phone so check it out 🙂

Follow us on Bloglovin

Subscribe to Newsletters and Facebook groups

I never really paid attention to my Facebook groups but I might now since pages will be harder to follow. We even made one so that we could do giveaways and share new releases plus just talk books.

BCS Reviews Reader FB Group

Newsletters are double edged sword for me. I love getting things right in my email box but I hate when I get fourteen emails over a day. Here I am constantly changing our newsletter because I want to give you the most amount of stuff in one email a week. I think I may have found a way that I will be trying out in coming weeks but it is a wonderful way to follow your favorite authors plus get special content.

  2. Hey ladies!! Woohoo!! I love this! Glad you’re joining in on the fun!!

There are so many awesome sounding books releasing next week! Thanks for the update. About Tsu, I haven’t taken the plunge yet, mostly because I just don’t have time right now. I’m going to wait it out and see how it’s going in a couple of months. Keep me posted! Happy Sunday!
