Being the son of Colton Mitchell isn't what Noah Mitchell wants to be known for. Though he works along side of his father, he feels the strain to go out on his own. Being the next in line to be in control of the family's ranch, he debates on taking his life in a completely different direction.

Leaving town to clear his head he meets Shalan, a beautiful singer that longs for a life in the city.

As sparks fly, his family's dreams for him seemingly go out the window. Will Noah stick around to follow in the footsteps of his famous father, or will love lead him away?

This is Book 1 in the new series, Mitchell- Healy Cousins. You will still be able to enjoy all of the original characters from the original Mitchell Series

It hurts my heart, and I wanted so bad to give Noah a 5 star, but I couldn’t. I felt that Noah could have been a bit better.

Noah Mitchell is all grown up! He’s in his early 20s and damn he is H.O.T. (but what cowboy isn’t??) If you have read the Mitchell series then you know all the characters that are involved.

Noah Mitchell is the oldest of the Mitchell cousins. He came in when his parents (Colt and Savannah) needed him the most. Noah is Colt’s biological son, whereas Savannah is just a step-parent.

Ok, enough about the background, let’s get to the actual book…

Noah is tired. He’s tired of his father always telling him what to do, and he’s tired of being treated like a kid. So when Noah is kicked off the ranch after almost hurting one of his cousins, (I believe the cousin deserved it, but whatever…) Noah takes off, he just drives. He has no idea where he is going, but he’s going. When he finally stops for the night he stops in a small town in Ohio. There he meets Shalan (pronounced shay-lynn).

Shalan isn’t having the best luck. She works in her Uncles bar as a waitress and she has a boyfriend whose kind of a d*ck. She’s tired of small town she lives in, and she’s tired of everything else. She doesn’t know what to do with her life, but she knows she needs to do something. So when an opportunity arises where she is able to accompany the handsome cowboy on a road trip, she accepts it.

This is where a whirlwind romance happens. Oh and some heart break. Noah is forced to go back home because of an emergency, and he leaves Shalan a little heart broken. When Noah finally is able to get back to Shalan they try to start their romance again, but things happen and they are no longer able to be together.

Noah and Shalan end up getting back together, but only after months of being apart, and oh how their lives have changed.

My Review…

I really liked this book, but I wasn’t able to give it 5 stars. I really wanted too, but I just thought that this book felt rushed. There were some unanswered questions, and there were things in book that I really felt it didn’t need to be said. Overall, I liked the book, and I am looking forward to this series. It’s going to be a long one, and I just hope they get better and better (like the Mitchell series).

I tugged down my jeans, since his back was turned to me. We were both adults and he’d obviously seen a woman before. Being in my underwear was exactly like wearing a bathing suit. I had nothing to feel ashamed of.

Well, that’s how I felt before he turned around and got an eyeful. “I wasn’t kiddin’ about sharin’ a bed.”

I climbed into the cold bed next to his. “You and I both know what will happen if I get into that bed with you.”

He sat up, leaning on his elbow. “What’s that exactly?”

“Oh, you’re funny. Like you don’t know already. Do you really think I’d just throw caution to the wind and sleep with you after one day?”

“You almost did a few hours ago.”

He was right and I hated that he knew it. “I would have stopped you.”

“Darlin’, after one kiss you’d be beggin’ me for more.”

His huge ego annoyed me, but it also made me hot between my legs. I could close my eyes and picture him being between them, satisfying the growing craving I had for him. “Have I mentioned how much I hate cocky men?”

“Maybe you just hate cock. Are you into cleanin’ carpets? Is that how you roll?” He must have thought his comment was funny, because he rolled on his back and cackled at himself. “You like the taste of pussy?”

I pulled a pillow over my face and screamed into it. The bantering between us was making me crazy. I finally removed the pillow, put my hand on the lamp switch, and spoke. “Wouldn’t you like to know?” I shut off the light and rolled over promising myself that I wouldn’t listen to anything else he had to say.
