Love—on the rocks….

The last thing Vaughan Hewson expects to find when he returns to his childhood home is a broken hearted bride in his shower, let alone the drama and chaos that come with her.

Lydia Green doesn't know whether to scream or cry in a corner. Discovering the love of your life is having an affair on your wedding day is bad enough. Finding out it's with his best man is another thing all together.

Just when this runaway bride has nowhere left to turn, a handsome stranger offers her a broad, muscular shoulder to cry on. Vaughan is the exact opposite of the picture perfect, respected businessmen she's normally drawn to. This former musician-turned-bartender is rough around the edges and is facing his own crossroads. But Lydia's already tried Mr. Right and discovered he's all wrong--maybe it's time to give Mr. Right Now a chance.

After all, what's wrong with getting dirty?

Dirty is the first book in the Dive Bar series from bestselling author Kylie Scott.

Being a Kylie Scott virgin…I went into Dirty completely fresh. I didn’t even read the synopsis.

I was very pleasantly surprised with this sweet, funny, sexy read. Meet Lydia and Vaughn.

Lydia is about to get married. Like it is legit her wedding day. She is so looking for the happily ever after in “her” fairy tale. She thinks she has found it in a whirlwind romance of few months with her real estate boss Chris. Or at least that’s what she tells herself, until she receives a video from an unknown number.

What is the video of you ask? Well her fiancé Chris banging the best friend/best man Paul of course.

Good times here people. So what does Lydia do? What any self-respecting female would do…she hauls ass.

She hops over the fence and lands in the neighbor’s backyard. The house looks empty so she decides to hang out there until everything dies down and she can figure things out.

Problem? Not as empty as she thought as she finds out when very sexy Vaughn stands in front of her in all his naked glory. She is hiding in his shower…so I mean inevitable right? ?

Vaughn is the sexy musician hiding out in childhood home in Coeur d’Alene after his band broke up. Vaughn is hiding many things behind that smooth, sexy exterior but on the inside he is grieving and being back home is the last thing he wanted.

With no place for Lydia to go her and Vaughn become unlikely roommates in their misery and comedy.

I really enjoyed this story from beginning to end. Lydia and Vaughn have a slow build to start but it was nice to see their relationship grow. They really do start out as friends with chemistry that become more. Vaughn is all sexy, broody rocker but seems to have soft spot for Lydia.

Throw in there his sister, her drama, the bar and you have cocktail for disaster and good times.

A somewhat predictable and shorter read than I would have liked, it does make for a great summertime beach book and great intro into Kylie’s writing if you are a virgin like me. I was turning the pages until the end. I am excited to see where this series goes.
