Tasha Skinner finally shed the baggage of a failed marriage. Now, she’s looking forward to a night of margaritas and man-bashing. Tasha’s friends have other plans, including Leather, Lace and liberation.

Dylan Caprese didn't want to go to Marquee, but he and his friends were on a mission. They took it upon themselves to make sure things didn't get out of hand when wannabe Dom's mixed alcohol with playtime at the monthly Leather and Lace night.

From the moment he set eyes on Tasha, he knew there was something different about her. She wasn't some bondage babe who thought she knew what it meant to be into BDSM. She was much, much worse; she was innocent and trusting. He can tell she is something precious.

When Tasha’s past threatens to destroy her, Dylan begins to realize that while their paths have never crossed, their lives most definitely have. Will he be able to save her before it’s too late.

Tasha has recently divorced Nick, her husband of 10 Years. They started dating in high school and by college Nick had changed but she was already in too deep to walk away. She stayed with him even though he was a controlling asshole. Holly and her other girlfriends decide to take her to a monthly “Leather and Lace” night at a club to celebrate her divorce.

A handsome mystery man talks to Tasha as she is standing in line and tells her she doesn’t belong there. Tasha and Holly finally make it into the club and quickly realize she way out of her comfort zone. Thinking she is way to provocatively for a club she finds that compared to most she could be considered a nun. The real action is in the backroom where some are playing out BDSM scenes. She finds herself uncomfortable but plays it off the best she can.

Mystery man shows back up and we are introduced to Dylan (oh swoon). Dylan attends the “Leather and Lace” nights because he thinks its bad form to have amateur BDSM nights in a club with alcohol. He sweeps Tasha off her feet and from that moment on Tasha and Dylan are together. Tasha will not just accept what he is offering but Dylan is very patient with her despite her insecurities and fears. Dylan is alpha male yet a sweetheart at the same time. I love how he commands yet loves with the same force. Tasha constantly fights against Dylan as he fights to claim her as his own.

“You might not be ready to admit it, but you want me as much as I want you” Dylan makes my panties wet just saying…

The unexpected angel lying next to me is turning my world upside down for reason even I can’t figure out

I’m not sure why I fight Dylan when he says I’m his.”

So the relationship is making headway, all be it a little slowly, but then Tasha gets a secret admire/Stalker and Holly starts acting weird and distant. Dylan gets his friends Zeke and Tommy to help him protect Tasha. Tommy being a cop we soon find out who is after Tasha but in her determination to be independent she doesn’t listen to sound advice given by Dylan and winds up in a precarious position. Thankfully, Dylan is able to swoop in with his buddies and save the day (my hero…sigh). They admit they love one another and live happily ever after. Well I think they do…There is a book 2 coming that focuses on Tommy and his obsession with a woman. I can’t wait to read it and look forward to Tasha and Dylan “dropping in”.

Sloan hooked me with her writing and the immediate attraction between Tasha and Dylan and I loved how she was able to balance Tasha insecurities and fears without making her into a ninny. I hate whiny heroines. I liked that Tasha had her issues but was able to deal with them without becoming stupid. All though I think she did protest too much when she kept yelling at Dylan that she did not belong to him…can we say denial. If Dylan claimed me I would just sigh and say “yes sir” 🙂 When does book 2 come out? Tomorrow?I also better get Zeke’s story because I kind of fell in lust with Zeke as well. Not trying to rush you or anything Sloan but could you get on that …ha ha ha.

On a personal note I attended the Facebook release party for this book and had the opportunity to talk to Sloan and Alfie (that beautiful specimen of hotness on the cover of the book) it was great talking with them and learning a little bit more about the face of Dylan plus I won a SWAG PACK from Sloan. Who does not love free shit?? hehe. I was hoping Alfie could maybe deliver it in person but I know I’m dreaming and it will come in the mail like my bills do *sigh*

About Sloan Johnson

Sloan Johnson is a big city girl trapped in a country girl’s body. While she longs for the hustle and bustle of New York City or Las Vegas, she hasn’t yet figured out how to sit on the deck with her morning coffee, watching the deer and wild turkeys in the fields while surrounded by concrete and glass.
When she was three, her parents received their first call from the principal asking them to pick her up from school. Apparently, if you aren’t enrolled, you can’t attend classes, even in Kindergarten. The next week, she was in preschool and started plotting her first story soon after.
Later in life, her parents needed to do something to help their socially awkward, uncoordinated child come out of her shell and figured there was no better place than a bar on Wednesday nights. It’s a good thing they did because this is where she found her love of reading and writing. Who needs socialization when you can sit alone in your bedroom with a good book?
Now, Sloan is a tattooed, purple haired mom of two kids, one of which was a thank you present to her husband for letting her get a Staffordshire Terrier with more anxiety issues than Sloan has, which is saying something. She’s been kicked out of the PTA in two school districts and is no longer asked to help with fundraisers because she’s been known to lose herself in a good book and forget that she has somewhere to be.
