September Ramblings — What We Are Most Excited For

Posted 09/09/2015 by Cezanne in Blogging /// 2 Comments ///

It’s September! First off how is it already September?! I’ve already seen Halloween and Thanksgiving items slowly creeping out, and someone mentioned the C word…..Christmas! Before we start dressing up for Halloween or decking the halls, let’s just enjoy the Fall (or cooler summer for us  south Floridians). September means pumpkin spice everything, great new book releases, and that the fall TV season is on it’s way back!! Thank goodness.  Here are few new books, TV premiers, and movies that we are excited for.

New to Bookshelves

Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon

Everything, Everything

(This book was everything seriously!! I highly recommend it)

Our 5 Star Review

My disease is as rare as it is famous. Basically, I’m allergic to the world. I don’t leave my house, have not left my house in seventeen years. The only people I ever see are my mom and my nurse, Carla.

But then one day, a moving truck arrives next door. I look out my window, and I see him. He’s tall, lean and wearing all black—black T-shirt, black jeans, black sneakers, and a black knit cap that covers his hair completely. He catches me looking and stares at me. I stare right back. His name is Olly.

Maybe we can’t predict the future, but we can predict some things. For example, I am certainly going to fall in love with Olly. It’s almost certainly going to be a disaster.

★ Cut Both Ways by Carrie Mesrobian

★ Dream Things True by Marie Marquardt

★ Begging for It (Asking For It #2) by Lilah Pace

This is the follow up to Asking For ItI need to read this book, I’m dying to read this book, but I haven’t. I’m not ready for Vivienne and Jonah’s story end.

★ Paper Hearts by Claire Contreras

★ The Affiliate (Ascension, #1) by K.A. Linde

The Affiliate

On the day of her Presenting, in front of the entire Byern Court, seventeen-year-old Cyrene Strohm’s lifelong plans come to fruition when she’s chosen for one of the most prestigious positions in her homeland—an Affiliate to the Queen.

Or so she thinks.

When Cyrene receives a mysterious letter and an unreadable book, she finds nothing is as it seems. Thrust into a world of dangerous political intrigue and deadly magic, Cyrene’s position only grows more treacherous when she finds herself drawn to the one man she can never have…

King Edric himself.

Cyrene must decide if love is truly worth the price of freedom. Find out in this first book in USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde’s new Ascension series.

★ The Appearance of Annie van Sinderen by Katherine Howe

★ Girl Wife Prisoner (A Good Wife #1) by Hanna Peach

Girl Wife PrisonerHow far would you go to set yourself free?

Drake Blackwell is intelligent, successful, controlling, and hiding a violent family past. He just made his latest investment: Noriko.

Imported from Japan, and wed to a stranger, Noriko struggles to stick to the rules of a Good Wife. Drake can’t seem to love her, not the way she wants to be loved. She dreams of freedom beyond the gates of Blackwell Manor.

She meets Keir, a passionate young gardener who shares her desire to break free. He gets under her skin and ignites a fire in her she can’t ignore. In the midst of her quiet desperation she thinks she has found happiness. And a glimpse of hope.

But this affair can’t last…can it?

There is a darkness lingering, but not how you’d expect. There are monsters, but not as you usually know them. The truth is, in this story, no one is completely innocent. And it’s always darkest before the dawn.

Although part of a series, this is a standalone novel with no cliffhanger.
WARNING: For ages +18. There are scenes in this novel that infer or allude to physical violence.

Blow (The Tainted Love Duet #1) by Kim Karr

★ Until Jax (Until Him #1) by Aurora Rose Reynolds

★ The Air He Breathes (Romance Elements #1) by Brittainy C. Cherry

The Air He Breathes

I was warned about Tristan Cole.

“Stay away from him,” people said.
“He’s cruel.”
“He’s cold.”
“He’s damaged.”

It’s easy to judge a man because of his past. To look at Tristan and see a monster.

But I couldn’t do that. I had to accept the wreckage that lived inside of him because it also lived inside of me.

We were both empty.
We were both looking for something else. Something more.
We both wanted to put together the shattered pieces of our yesterdays.

Then perhaps we could finally remember how to breathe.

  1. The book I was most looking forward to in September I already read and really liked (Dark Wild Night by Christina Lauren). They write the perfect kind of erotica for moi. Oh and I read and freaking LOVED LOVED LOVED Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo (out on Sept. 29th). I don’t really watch TV so I can’t add to that discussion. haha!
